Shepherd's Center To Celebrate 12th Anniversary Sept. 17

The Shepherd's Center of Webster/Kirkwood is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a Birthday Party Fundraiser Friday, Sept. 17, at the Webster Hills United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, 1333 W. Lockwood at Berry in Glendale.

Russ Mitchell, CBS News anchor and Rock Hill native, will be the guest of honor. Mitchell attended school in Webster Groves and graduated from the University of Missouri's School of Journalism in 1982. He was a reporter and anchor for KTVI and KMOV television stations in St. Louis before joining CBS News in 1993. In January he was named national correspondent for CBS News. He is also the anchor of the "CBS Evening News Sunday Edition" and correspondent for "CBS News Sunday Morning." He lives in New York City.

The birthday party begins at 11 a.m. with a reception and silent auction. The luncheon begins at noon.

The Shepherd's Center of Webster/Kirkwood Inc. is an interfaith volunteer organization that provides programs and services for older adults.
